The Chateau de Raay is a converted castle, originally built in 1326 and used as a monastery from 1937, lovingly restored to include beautiful castle walls, original staircases, wooden ceilings, natural floorings and authentic ornaments and furnishings. The Chateau is situated eight kilometres from the museums and attractions of Venlo. The 51 guestrooms have d�cor in fresh cream and white, with shaker style furnishings in painted wood, period details such as beamed ceilings, and original works of art. All guestrooms have safes, two telephones, high speed Internet connections, coffee and tea making facilities, satellite television with movie channels and bathrooms with designer toiletries and hair dryers.
The Chateau is set in a 13 hectare estate where guests can enjoy a walk in the Wintergarden, or visit the International Art Centre a gallery and art printer where art works are available for purchase. The hotel is located on the border of a large nature reservoir, which has numerous paths for walking and cycling. After a day's walking or sightseeing, guests can relax with a massage treatment or enjoy a glass of wine or champagne in the bar before or after dinner. In the restaurant Hoef te Rode guests can enjoy local and international dishes created by a top chef and served in an elegant setting with period details. Large groups and banquets are also catered for. The Chateau de Raay has a 24 hour front desk with safe deposit box service and free parking is available for those arriving by car. Numerous sightseeing attractions can be found nearby, with the Botanical Gardens, Limburgs Museum, a Boat Trip, Gardens of Arcen Castle, Renaissance buildings and Museum Van Bommel Van Dam all within eight kilometres. Eindhoven Airport is approximately 30 kilometres and a 30 minute drive from the hotel. Buses number 11 and 403 leave Eindhoven Airport regularly for Eindhoven railway station, where connections to numerous destinations are available.
