Location. Secluded along a powdery white beach 23 kilometers south of Cancun's hotel zone, the adults only Paraiso de la Bonita Resort & Thalasso is located in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.
Hotel Features. Rest and renewal are the primary amenities promoted at this property, where world famous guests including Frette, Riedel, Bulgari and Dom Perignon have stayed. Five restaurants and bars include La Canoa, where Executive Chef Fabrice Guisset combines a stellar international wine list with haute cuisine, including smoked duck salad and lobster bisque with seafood quenelles. Kaax serves fresh grilled selections prepared on a wood fire, as well as traditional chilpachole. A 22,000 square foot spa bases its treatments on Roman and Greek theories of saltwater therapy. An ocean view fitness center features a sauna, steam room, spa tub, plunge pool and beauty salon.
Guestrooms. Equipped with traditional wood paddle ceiling fans, guestrooms feature furnished terraces or Juliet balconies that provide views of the Caribbean Sea. Living rooms are divided by an arch to create a sitting area that includes a loveseat, built in couch and a marble topped desk. Antiqued blue furniture predominates, including an entertainment center that contains a 27 inch television and a DVD/CD player. A complimentary bottle of Tequila awaits. Bedrooms feature a second television and platform beds draped in Italian Frette linens. Marble and stone bathrooms contain sunken marble tubs and are furnished with Bulgari toiletries. Bowl sinks of either crystal or porcelain rest atop twin marble vanities. Adjacent to the tub is a two person shower stall with a bench and a garden visible through a glass wall. Thick Italian Frette brand towels offer an extra measure of softness.
Expert Tip. The resort offers seafaring seclusion via a 48 foot long catamaran with four cabins that can be rented for private day cruises, cocktail parties and overnight excursions.
