The opulent Cavaliere Palace Hotel is a patrician mansion built in 1600 and adorned with splendid frescoes some dating back to the 17th century. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens in the historical centre of Spoleto, just 500 metres from the Basilica. The 31 guestrooms are grandly decorated in rich fabrics of gold and red with refined furnishings, some have frescoes. Room amenities include air conditioning, safes, cable television, climate control, direct dial telephones, minibars, and desks. Marble bathrooms are complete with bathtub/shower combo, hair dryers, bidets, and complimentary toiletries.
The Restaurant Del Cardinale serves regional dishes accompanied by an extensive wine list in a richly decorated dining room, complete with more original frescoes, Murano glass chandeliers and dramatic red drapes. Guests can ask the concierge for tour advice, enjoy drinks in the American Bar or out on the terraces overlooking the garden. Business delegates can make use of the theatre style meetings rooms (up to 60 people) and banquet facilities. Guests can visit the Basilica of Spoleto just 500 metres away or take a day trip to Assisi, (the home town of St Francis), 25 kilometres away. The nearest international airport is Rome Fiumicino 120 kilometres from the hotel.

There is an express train service every 30 minutes to Rome's Termini train station (journey time 30 minutes). A single ticket costs around 10 euros. Taxis are readily available at the airport, but take a licensed metered taxi only. An airport surcharge is payable. From the airport, follow the highway A1 northbound towards Firenze Milano. Take the A1/SS204, then turn right into SS204 and follow directions for Terni Narni Spoleto L'Aquila. Follow the SS204, then the E45. At Terni take the SS3 for 26 kilometres until Spoleto. Take the second entrance to Spoleto towards Spoleto Nord.
