Housed within a former sailor house on Genoa Harbour, the modern Columbus Sea Hotel allows for easy access to ferry ports for Sicily, Sardinia and Corsica. Views from the 80 guestrooms vary from the harbour and Mediterranean Sea to Genoa's historic old town the largest in Europe. Rooms feature modern d�cor and fabrics with dark wood furnishings and offer a range of amenities including satellite television, minibars, dial up Internet connections, pay movies, designer toiletries and complimentary daily newspapers.
The hotel features an American bar where snacks and drinks are served throughout the day. The concierge is available to advise on tourism in the city, as well as being able to book concert and theatre tickets, while high speed Internet connections are available for those who wish to plan their own sightseeing itineraries. Guests benefit from doorstep access to the Ferry terminal, making Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica and Spain easily accessible. Scooters useful for exploring the royal castles, cathedral and assortment of galleries and museums located within a three kilometre radius of the hotel are available to hire through the 24 hour front desk. The property lies seven kilometres from Genoa Airport. Buses are the best way to explore the city. Tickets cost 0.75 EUR and can be bought from newsagents and tobacconists. These are valid for 90 minutes, and can also be used on the small tube line which runs in one part of town. Bicycles and scooters are another fun way to explore the area.
