Built in the sixteenth century as a Jesuit Monastery, the Hotel Ruze overlooks the River Moldau in the historic town centre of Cesky Krumlow, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage City. The hotel conserves its Renaissance style in the d�cor of its rooms and public spaces. The 72 guestrooms feature dark wood furniture and exposed timbers with white walls, alongside modern facilities including multi channel TV, Internet access and minibars.
Modern fitness equipment at the hotel includes an indoor pool with counter current, gym, sauna and solarium. Business travellers can take advantage of conference facilities combining Renaissance settings with modern audio visual equipment. Dining can also be a historic experience, with chefs in traditional historic costume roasting meat over an open fire in the restaurant; meals can also be enjoyed al fresco with views on the river terrace. The front desk is open round the clock, and the concierge desk can arrange services including translation, currency exchange and tour assistance. Within 100 metres guests will find all the sights of the historic town and museums including the Museum of Torture and the Museum of Puppets, as well as the Egon Schiele Art Centre. The castle is 400 metres from the hotel. From the railway station, services connect to Linz and Prague, from where the respective airports can be reached by bus. Linz airport is the nearer, 90 kilometres (56 miles) from the hotel.
